Official Guide to Internet Laundry

Introduction

Welcome to Internet Laundry! A forum brought to you by Brigade. We know that not everyone is familiar with how forums work, or what they are - this post is to help with that.

As you can see on the home page, there are multiple categories ranging from General all the way to Books. As an example let's take the General category: This category is intended for general discourse, information, topics, really whatever you think does not fall into a dedicated category.

Feel free to browse each category, see what other people are talking about or more importantly, what you want to talk about! You can comment and like other peoples threads however you see fit - (As long as you are following the rules & guidelines).

You can also follow specific threads you're interested in, and will receive notifications when there's activity on the thread. As well as share it to others, or report it if you believe it is inappropriate.

Posting

So, you looked around, browsed the categories, and now you want to post about something that interests you, or might interest others. The steps for this are very simple:

Go into the category you would like to post in
Click the green button labeled “Create New Post"
You will be taken to a new page where you can type your post, insert pictures, gifs, links, almost anything you want
Review the guidelines
Click "Publish"

Inbox/Chatroom (App only)

Internet Laundry is also equipped with an Inbox/Chat Room function on the Brigade App (iPhone / Android). This is more or less just instant messaging, like your DM’s. Here you can direct message people, join, or form group chats of up to 50 people. Send memes, ask people questions, do you! Just no weird stuff - any member has the ability to block another, and if serious enough, feel free to contact a mod if there's any harassment going on.

How to Disable E-mail Notifications (Desktop Only)

If you download our app, you will receive all the notifications from Internet Laundry straight to your device. It's pretty annoying to get e-mail notifications on top of that. To turn these off:

Access the site from a desktop computer
Click your profile in the top left corner of the page
Click "Profile"
Scroll down to "Settings" in the bottom left
Turn off each category you no longer wish to receive e-mails for
Done

For the most part, using the forum is relatively simple. The #1 goal is community. Learning, discussing, and enjoying content from like minded people you share the forum with.
